Transmedia has become more than just a big buzzword in the industry. It's now a practice and other terms commonly associated with transmedia are: convergence, cross platform, deep or immersive media, experience design, story franchises, world building, integrated media and 360. As an artist, designer, media and / or entertainment professional dedicated to success ad staying ahead of this evolving methodology. It's important for you to know what these emerging content strategies mean and how to apply them to your own innovative process for creating a richer experience for consumers and fans to participate more meaningfully in that brand or story world.
Speaker: Kate McCallum, Founder of Bridge Arts Media, LLC
Kate McCallum is an experience producer, transmedia consult, writer, project coordinator, events producer and development specialist with reverse experience ranging from 20 years at Universal and Paramount Studios in the production and development of primetime television series and feature films to producing music, live events and social media content.
In 2006, Kate made her first foray into new media and alternative forms of storytelling, launched a VoD channel on Comcast, worked for the LA Opera, and founded her own media company, Bridge Arts Media, LLC, which specialises in transmedia development and production strategy incorporating traditional and emerging media platforms such as 360 full dome and immersive experiences.
Kate is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and a Board Member of the Producers Guild New Media Council.
