(此部份暫只提供英文版本)

Speaker: Sonja Zagermann

Sonja Zagermann is an independent editorial designer with a focus on book design. After graduation from Zurich University of the Arts, she worked with Georg Rutishauser at edition fink on various artist publications. Some of their books were recently awarded in the competitions “The Most Beautiful Swiss Books”, “The Most Beautiful German Books” and ”Best Book Design from all over the World”.

Sonja also designed a new Swiss Art Magazine “l’Officiel Art” which was published in May 2015. Since 2014 she has designsed the exhibition poster and publications for I:project space, a Beijing-based platform for non-commercial art projects. Sonja is currently working and living in Zurich.

Beside designing printed matter in the fields of art, Sonja Zagermann evaluated how stress and our modern work life influences the design process and its outcome. Consequence of her investigations is a manifesto entitled Slow Design which criticizes the performance orientation of todaystoday’s society. Based on this ideas, she developed a concept of how modern techniques could be used as design tool for repetitive processes in order to use time more sensiblesensibly. “We reclaim the value of idleness and recreation! They are core values of every sensible and sensual design!”
