Two famous watch designers from ECAL will share their experience and insights of Swiss Watch Design at HKDI.

There will be two topics:
1) The Evolution of Archetypes by Xavier Perrenoud
The purpose of this seminar is to discover the design evolution of a series of Swiss watch archetypes through time, from the 1960's until now. A parallel with will be done with some other examples found in various fields of industrial design.
2) How to Build a Brand: A case study on how Fiona launched and developed Fiona Krüger Timepieces by Fiona Kruger
The seminar will look at the brand, Fiona Krüger Timepieces, as a case study to show how the philosophy behind what she does has set the brand apart and allowed her to be successful in a tough industry. Practical examples will explain her approach and how these ideas can be applied in other scenarios, in terms of the following areas:
• Brand Identity and Philosophy
• Design: Collaboration, Innovation and Heritage
• Supply and Production
• Sales and Retail
• Marketing
• The Role of the Internet and Social Media
