Contemporary Jewellery: Development Impossible in Asia?

The contemporary jewellery category was developed through the 1950s and 60s in Europe, and emerged as an international movement in the early 1970s. For over half a century, development of the field in the East has been slow in comparison to its progress in the West. The purpose of this seminar is to explore the reasons for such imbalance, and to investigate the potential of contemporary jewellery in Asia.
