The concept "This is Thailand" is derived from the reimagining of jewelry as a physical interpretation of an artist's concerns about social, environmental and ethical welfare. The lecture focuses on the body of work that documents the result of cultural and social changes in contemporary jewelry. It aims to reflect shifts in human behaviors that have likely stemmed from the onset of globalization and capitalism. This work mirrors contemporary lifestyle adaptations, and expresses how, as people, we exploit of our environment with little regard for the consequences.
