In the mood for Architecture

Speaker: Thomas Coldefy
Principal, Coldefy&Associés, France

Graduated from the Ecole Spéciale d'Architecture (ESA, Paris) in 2002. While still a student, he worked his apprenticeship first with Yves Lion, and then, attracted by the prospect of international experience and of taking on the challenge of "flagship projects". He joined a number of well-known architecture and urban planning agencies as a trainee. These included Skidmore Owings & Merrill in New York, then Swanke Hayden Connell Architects, in London. He has collaborated with Tadao Ando at SCAU in Paris, for the Pinault Foundation project, then to the role of project manager with Franck Hammoutène, before returning to New York with Kohn Pedersen Fox (2004-2006), where he contributed to the design of offices and shopping centers in Europe and Asia (China).

He has been awarded the "Prix Tour Eiffel - 2007" for the winning of the HKDI competition, and the "40 under 40" Prize by the Chicago Athenaeum in 2010 recognizing the most promising talents.

Speaker: Isabel Van Haute
Artistic Director, Coldefy&Associés, France

Graduated from the Ecole Saint-Luc (2001) in Ghent (Belgium) and worked in different firms on cultural programs (auditoriums and museums), university buildings, housing and office buildings, spheres in which she has acquired extensive expertise. In Paris she first joined Dominique Perrault Architects where she coordinated the study for the Schipol Airport in Netherlands, and as a project manager for the design competition of the French High School in Le Cire. She worked at SCAU with Aymeric Zublena, and then at Patrick Berger as a winner of a competition to extend the Cochin Hospital in Paris. To fulfill her international experience,she joined in New York, the firm of Richard Meier, where she took part in the design of an office complex in Paris and of a luxury residential block in Miami (Florida). Isabel Van Haute obtained the "Belgian Glass Award" for her degree in Architecture.
