Design: Creativity and Protection

Speaker: Mr Peter Cheung
Peter is the Director of the Intellectual Property Department, and Registrar of Patents, Designs and Trademarks, Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, People’s Republic of China. Mr Cheung has been representing Hong Kong in WIPO law-making conferences. As part of the China delegation, he made interventions. As a WTO Dispute Settlement Panelist, he settled two international disputes concerning trade marks and geographical indications (US v EU and Australia v EU) 2004 - 2005. He was twice an invited speaker in Harvard’s Asia Business Conferences 2005, sharing intellectual property insights.

Speaker: Mr Sam Ho
Sam is the Managing Director and General Manager of the International Federation Against Copyright Theft, Greater China (IFACT – GC), the Hong Kong-based content protection program for the Motion Picture Association (MPA). In this role, he provides the MPA’s Regional President and Managing Director logistical and technical support from Hong Kong to ensure the effective implementation of strategic initiatives in order to protect the interests of the MPA’s member companies across Greater China including Taiwan. He also is a Founding Fellow of the International Institute of Management as well as the Founder and President of the International Federation of Creativity and Technology Limited (IFOCAT).
