HKDI students showcased at the Anti-Drug Singing Contest 2011

Sound of Rookies, the band formed by HKDI Digital Music and Media students, beat over a thousand competitors to win the Overall Champion, Best Performance Champion (Group Performance) and Best Lyrics Writing at the Hong Kong Anti-drug Singing Contest 2011 on the strength of an adapted song called “Drug Addict”. The Band was also invited to perform their winning song on a TV show, which was broadcast on TVB Jade on the 19th of March. The winning team’s performance is now available to view on YouTube.

Members of the Band include Tse Hiu Sun (vocalist), Choi Tsz Man and Yau Yuk Pui (guitar), Li Wing Wai (bass) and Lai Chun Wa (drums). Cheng Wing Ho, the only female in the band, wrote the lyrics for the winning song.
