In its 50th Anniversary, the Design and Art Directions (D&AD) collaborated with HKDI and IVE(Lee Wai Lee) to organise the three-week exhibition to showcase the best award-wining works to the general public and promote the development of Hong Kong design industry. Mr. Neville Brody, President of D&AD, was invited to be the officiating guest of the opening ceremony on 7 September 2012, and to deliver two seminars to industry practitioners and design students.
The exhibition showcased about a hundred selected pieces from both Professional Awards and Students Awards in 2012, which covered categories of graphic design, advertising, packaging as well as poster design. It included a trailer, “Spread Your Wings” designed by 3 students of HKDI’s Higher Diploma in Advertising Design, which won the Best of Year Award.
