18 January 2013

HKDI was invited to collaborate with RTHK for the “Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Award” for the second consecutive year, which provided students from Image Design, Fashion Design, Creative Media, Graphic Design, Product Design Higher Diploma Programmes with the opportunity to participate in various design works of the event. They designed the key visual graphics, opening animation, and the apparel, image and accessories of the 6 Masters of Ceremonies, creating for them distinctive and stylish image.

In view of good response from students, this year HKDI integrated the design works of this event into part of the curriculum and industrial attachment programme to allow more students in different years of study to undertake various roles. For example, final year students of Fashion and Image Design were responsible for submitting design proposals while first year students had the opportunity to handle fitting for the MCs, giving them the exposure to the professional procedures of a large-scale event. After careful selection by teachers and consolidation the creative ideas, the Masters of Ceremonies were dressed up nicely with fashionable apparel, hairstyle and make-up. The collaboration injected fresh elements in the event and offered HKDI students the opportunity to put creativity, theories and learned skills into practice.
