Speaker:Mona Larsen
Textile designer Mona Larsen has become professionally committed to sustainable values in the design process after working in the fashion industry for thirty years. Following the rapid changes in the textile industry during previous decades, Larsen is a firsthand witness to the many dilemmas in the modern society.
Mona Larsen is currently Dean of the Department of Design at Bergen Academy of Art and Design, where topics regarding quality, identity and sustainability are established in both curriculum and artistic research. Questions concerning the driving forces behind forceful and responsible design will be discussed by Larsen during the lecture, by showing examples from her own work and from icons in design history.
