Shakespeare mobile theatre performance - A Midummer Night's Dream

Transcribed from the renowned William Shakespeare 's romantic comedy A Mid-Summer Night's Dream, the performance presents four lovers who begin their chase after love after being sprinkled with the juice from Love Flowers. Tricked by the mischievous genie Puck , they manage to find true love and the chase comes to a happy ending.

The main objective of this program is to examine the use of innovative technology in mobile (portable) theatre through experimental and academic research, so as to promote the development of multimedia, digital and theatre industry in Hong Kong. The production crew of this theatre includes the teaching staffs of Hong Kong Design Institute and some enthusiastic practitioners in the creative industries, committed to providing opportunities for young designers to participate in theatre productions and skill training. We take an excerpt adapted from Shakespeare's classic comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream. The performance combines visual projection, theatre and live music, showing a combination of traditional and modern styles for the 400 years of Shakespeare. For the purpose of experimental design of mobile theatre, we will present a 15-minute clip of A Midsummer Night's Dream to examine the possibly and feasibility of this concept of performance before running a full version show.
