Master Lecture Series - When an architect finds a tree...

Speaker: Prof. Cecilie Andersson

Wooden architecture constitutes the core of the built environment in Norway, but these days interest in carpentry drains, and the developers who make up most of the construction initiatives lean towards concrete and steel. With the sustainable attributes in forests and trees as a starting point, drawing from ancient traditions and bridging with new technologies, we see how new possibilities in wooden architecture is emerging. In this process, where the digital-vernacular approaches emerge, we the architects, can reinvent our role within the building paradigm.
