A pop-up exhibition featuring The Ideal City created by students of HKDI and Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) during the Global Design Camp was showcased at The Great Debate and Liveable City Conference, as part of Design Manchester Festival in November 2019. Back in July this year, 14 students of HKDI from various design disciplines joined hands with students of MMU for a 5-day intensive workshop to propose creative solutions for their “Ideal City" at the Global Design Camp. Focusing on the five challenge areas of Health, Places, Food, Work and Networks, students applied the Design Thinking methodology to shape their solutions, with input from industry experts in the UK.
