Creative Handicrafts by HKDI Students at Lunar New Year Bazaar Fair at Metroplaza

24 Jan 2014

HKDI and IVE (Lee Wai Lee) students were invited to design and produce creative handicrafts themed with Lunar New Year, such as hand-painted tote bags, original music CDs, non-woven Spring festival couplets and penakistoscope fans will be showcased and sold at the Lunar New Year Bazaar Fair at Metroplaza in Kwai Fong from 24th to 30th January 2014. The general public can shop around this Bazaar fair for unique, innovative and funny handicrafts for celebrating the coming Lunar New Year. On 23rd December 2013, the organiser also invited the founder of G.O.D. and famous designer, Mr Douglas Young, to provide a workshop for HKDI students, sharing his experience on design career and brand management, and inspired the students how they might inject local cultural elements in their designs. This collaboration attracted students from various departments of HKDI & IVE (LWL), including Department of Design Foundation Studies, Department of Communication Design & Digital Media and Department of Multimedia and Internet Technology to participate, providing them with a valuable platform to showcase their talents and enrich their knowledge about branding and marketing.
