“Please Have a Seat” —
“A Fantasy of Chairs” Creative Art Zone

3 Jun 2014

The Hong Kong Heritage Museum will launch an event on the theme of chairs in June. The first of its kind in Hong Kong, the event will offer visitors a new, inspiring and fun museum experience that combines a fascinating mix of history, culture and art. “A Fantasy of Chairs” Creative Art Zone is an exhibition co-organised by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and HKDI and IVE (Lee Wai Lee). Students from the Departments of Design Foundation Studies, Communication Design and Digital Media, Product and Interior Design, and Multimedia and Internet Technology have been invited to create and design chairs and chair-related works of art for display. Title of this collaborated art-project is called "From the Classroom to the Museum – Chairs for All". Encouraged to make use of their creative ideas in different disciplines and media, the students have been spurred to unleash their artistic potential. Covering the public space outside the museum’s exhibition halls, this zone will serve as a platform for local young designers to present their ideas and showcase their talents.

Exhibition Date: Jun 2014 – Sep 2014
Exhibition Venue: Hong Kong Heritage Museum, 1 Man Lam Road, Sha Tin
