Design with All Seminar, Participatory Methods for Social Inclusion

Design with All Seminar, Participatory Methods for Social Inclusion was held on 13th June Friday at Copenhagen, Denmark. It is a collaboration between CoDesign Research Cluster (CODE) of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (KADK), Design for Alle Network (DfA) and DESIS Lab of the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI).

Over 70 design professionals joined the seminar to explore new insights from research and practice on participatory design approaches, design for all strategies and universal design principles. The Design with All Seminar sparked an interdisciplinary dialogue between the communities of Design for All, Universal Design and Participatory Design with the intention of building a richer practical and conceptual understanding of empathic involvement and co-design methods that promote inclusion.

Professor Pelle Ehn from Malmo University, School of Arts and Communication; Dr Patricia Moore, President of MooreDesign Associates; Dr Eva Brandt, Associate Professor of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (KADK); Dr Yanki Lee, Director of the HKDI DESIS Lab for Social Design Research.
