HKDI Star Graduate & Principal’s List Award Presentation Ceremony 2026
The HKDI Star Graduate & Principal’s List Award Presentation Ceremony 2026 was successfully held on 5 February 2026. The ceremony was honoured by the presence of distinguished industry partners, who also served as award presenters, including Mr Eric Chan, the Co-Founder and Design Director of O&O Studio, Mr Kevin Chow, the Head of Graphic Communication of FUJIFILM Business Innovation Hong Kong Limited, Mr Pong Chow, the seasoned Film Editor and the ExCo Member of the Society of Film Editors Hong Kong, and Mr Tifson Wong, Regional Talent Acquisition Lead of M&S Corporate. They were joined by Dr Elita Lam, Principal of HKDI, in presenting the awards to the recipients.
Now in its fourth year, the HKDI Star Graduate Scheme continues to recognise graduates who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in design practice and academic excellence. This year, 15 accomplished graduates were awarded the prestigious Star Graduate title. During the ceremony, certificates were also presented to current students selected for the Principal’s List, in recognition of their exceptional performance in creativity and academic studies. Introduced this year, the award aims to broaden students’ perspectives on professional development, foster opportunities for growth and development both within and beyond HKDI, and open new pathways for their future design careers.
Adding a meaningful touch to the award, this year’s Star Graduate Award trophy was designed and handcrafted in resin by Mr Rolland Cheung, a first batch Star Graduate from the Interior Design and founder of agape design limited. Through the trophy, he conveys an encouraging message to the juniors: embrace setbacks as part of the creative journey and move forward with perseverance.
During the event, four Star Graduates and Principal’s List awardees were invited to share their past learning journeys and personal experiences. Through their own stories and achievements, they inspired junior students and encouraged them to become the next generation of torchbearers in the design profession.
