HKDI Gallery presents two inspiring exhibitions this year, Pluriversal Futures – A Prix Ars Electronica Exhibition in collaboration with HKDI and Dieter Rams: Less but better.
Pluriversal Futures, in collaboration Austria’s pioneering Ars Electronica Festival, showcases award-winning works from the 2024 and 2025 Prix Ars Electronica, alongside innovative creations by emerging HKDI designers. Co-curated with Ars Electronica, the exhibition invites visitors to experience immersive installations and experimental interfaces that highlight the transformative power of digital media. Through the perspectives of artists, scientists, technologists, designers and activists, it explores how emerging technologies are shaping our shared future. The exhibition runs from 29 November 2025 to 6 April 2026.
Meanwhile, Dieter Rams: Less, but better marks the first exhibition of Dieter Rams in Hong Kong. Originating from the legacy of one of the most influential designers of the 20th century, the exhibition highlights Rams’ creation of more than 350 iconic products for Braun and Vitsœ. His emphasis on sustainability and user experience continues to inspire designers worldwide, and his philosophy of “less, but better” is especially relevant today amidst global resource and environmental challenges. Co‑organized with the Dieter and Ingeborg Rams Foundation and the Beijing Contemporary Art Foundation, the exhibition presents a curated collection of his designs, offering unique insights into his lasting impact on contemporary design. The exhibition runs from 27 February to 3 May 2026.
