Design Tricycles – a travelling exhibition

Students from HKDI Department of Product and Interior Design (PID), Fashion and Image (FID) and from THEi Product Design participated in a project called "Ageing and Happiness", in which they interviewed local residents of Tseung Kwan O areas, especially the elderly, on happy moments in their daily life. These were translated into interactive installations on tricycles, which is being cycled around Tseung Kwan O areas this week to engage local people with their design ideas.
The "Ageing and Happiness" project also marks the launch of the HKDILWL DESIS Lab. DESIS (Design for Social Innovation towards Sustainability) is a network of design labs, based in design schools and design-oriented universities, actively involved in promoting and supporting sustainable change. We recently joined the network and we are prove to announce that Dr Yanki Lee, our new Adjunct Professor is leading the new DESIS’s cluster, Ageing and Ingenuity.
