The Kwan Kwa: Chinese Wedding Costume Reimagined Exhibition is organised by the HKDI Atelier of the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), funded by the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) funding Scheme. With this prestigious government support, HKDI has provided an official platform to safeguard, promote, and transmit Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage. This endorsement reinforces the Kwan Kwa exhibition as a meaningful and long-term cultural contribution.This exhibition will celebrate the Kwan Kwa—the iconic traditional Chinese wedding gown and the vibrant heritage of Chinese wedding culture. Through a curated presentation of exquisite artefacts, selected historical pieces, and contemporary reinterpretations, the exhibition will spotlight the Kwan Kwa’s intricate craftsmanship, distinctive symbolic motifs and its enduring cultural significance across generations.
