Shoes Design Themed Dazzling Jewelry Won International Competition

HKDI student of Fashion Design, Yuen Kwok Yan became the First-runner up for Female Footwear in the Individual Category with her glamorous design “Jewelry” at the 7th International Footwear Design Competition 2015. The competition received submissions from mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and other countries with more than 170 entries. The award-presentation ceremony was held in Guangzhou in June. Kwok Yan skillfully attached dazzling jewelry onto her design and created modern, elegant, and extraordinary footwear. Kwok Yan thinks participating in the competition gives her a very invaluable experience to realise her design concepts into reality through collaborating with a footwear manufacturer. The award gives Kwok Yan enormous confidence and encouraged her to continue pursuing her dream in the fashion design industry. She is planning to participate in various design competitions, in order to gain more experience and establish her personal network in the industry.

Oragnised by Hong Kong Footwear Association, the 7th International Footwear Design Competition aims at encouraging and promoting original footwear design among the industry, as well as ensuring a sustainable development of the footwear industry, enhancing competitiveness of products and recognizing the achievements of outstanding designers.
