Flower Plaque Show - the Legacy of Flower Plaque Craftsmanship and Students’ Transformation Work

A group of Hong Kong Design Institute students and the Conservancy Association Center for Heritage jointly look for the opportunities of preserving traditional flower plaque craftsmanship. From learning, analyzing to practicing, the students apply contemporary design solution with creativity to regenerate traditional flower plaque.

“Traditional craftsmanship is diminishing. What we may lose is not merely the technique but also our history and culture which are so intangible and being threatened.” By participating in this project, it is one of the ways to conserve the traditional arts and crafts actively.

First Show:
Location: The Conservancy Association Center for Heritage
Annex Block, 36A Western Street, Sai Ying Pun, HK
Opening Ceremony: 5:00pm – 7:00pm, 25 April 2012
Flower Plaque Workshop: 5 May 2012 (Sat) / 2:00pm – 5:00pm
(Closed on Sundays, Mondays, public holidays)

Opening Ceremony: 14 May 2012 (Mon) / 5:00pm – 7:00pm
Exhibition: 14 May - 31 May 2012 (Closed on Sundays) / 10:00am – 10:00pm
