HKDI partners with French animation school GOBELINS

We are proud to announce that HKDI partners with French animation school GOBELINS to jointly work on promoting the advancement of international understanding, academic excellence, dissemination of learning and strengthening cultural ties. A memorandum of understanding is signed to foster the development of creative industry and kick off an excellent start for the long term collaboration between the two parties.

The Signing Ceremony held on 2 December was one of the highlight events of HKDI in Business of Design Week (BODW). Mr Arnaud BARTHELEMY, Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau, Mr Eric RIEWER, International Manager, Gobelins, l'école de l'image, France and Dr Carrie WILLIS, SBS JP, Executive Director, VTC , and Mr Leslie LU, Vice Principal, HKDI, were invited to officiate the ceremony and witness this remarkable moment.

The first initiative under this memorandum of understanding will be a two-week international summer school on Master Class - Animation Studio, and given by GOBELINS teachers who are active professionals in world renowned animation studios. Participants from around the world will be able to study in HKDI and learn specific characteristic and know—how of character animation and design as it is taught at GOBELINS in Paris. This summer class is now open for application.
