Master Lecture On Dutch Creative Culture

Speaker: Luca Marchetti
A branding & communication consultant, curator and professor of Semiology of Design and Fashion at ENSBA in Lyon, CELSA and the IFM in Paris. Marchetti is a regular contributor to magazines such as Vogue Italia, Form and Domus on fashion and contemporary design.

Speaker: Emanuele Quinz
An art historian, artist, curator, musician, and Professor at various academic institutions such as Paris-VIII University, UQAM Montréal, ENSA Nancy, ENSAD Paris and Brera School of Fine Arts in Milan. Quinz also oversees publications about contemporary art including La scene Digital, Digital Performance, Interfaces, MilleSuoni, Deleuze, and Guattari e la musica elettronica (Cronopio 2006).

Based on the works from 37 participants of ‘Basic Instincts’ (currently exhibited in The OCT Art & Design Gallery until 22 Nov 2012) who are the young generation of Dutch designers, the lecture aims at elaborate the Dutch creative culture through samples from Fashion, Product, Architecture, and Photography and to express their attitude and views on future life style and imagination. The entire presentation will be divided into 6 segments: Perspectives, Un-designed, Soft Future, Metropolitan Sleek, Slow Forward and Panopticon.
