Transmedia Seminar & Screening of “Anniversary”
The film screening of “Anniversary” (Director’s cut), directed by Patrick Kong, will be held on 24 February 2016 Wednesday, 7pm, at VTC Auditorium, Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI). The screening is exclusive to VTC students and staffs as well as its local partner secondary schools’ students. The film screening will be followed by a seminar on Transmedia with the presence of:

The idea of Transmedia – as a strategic tool for story expansion - has been increasingly applied to intrigue and build film fan loyalty in American / European cities, Hollywood in particular. As early as in November 2015, months prior to the official release of “Anniversary”, HKDI Transmedia team was honorably invited by Orange Sky Golden Harvest to cooperate in a trial to develop a local Transmedia prototype to engage potential audiences of the movie. A group of 4 Transmedia students has established facebook pages for over 10 fictional characters from the storywold of “Anniversary”, where the back-story of the characters can be found. General public is able to become facebook friends of the characters by which he/she can lively interact with the latters and follow the posts that provide supplementary information in addition to the plot of the movie.
This seminar is an exceptional occasion to introduce to the audiences the overall architecture of the Transmedia model and to learn from the director his creative insight of producing a romance film of big box office success.
