HKDI Students Winning Designs Featuring at Biz-Green Dress Code Fashion Show HK

HKDI Fashion and Image Design students won the two champions, a first runner-up and a second runner-up at the Biz-Green Dress Code Design Contest, co-organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC). In order to raise the public’s awareness of the biz-green dress code concept, the contesting students were requested to add an energy-saving element to business attire.
Biz-Green Dress Code Fashion Show cum Award Presentation was took place on 30th August 2013. The winning outfits were featured by well-known celebrities, Mr. Ruco Chan and Ms. Mandy Lieu. The champion’s design for men, “Microcreature”, comes with a suit made of breathable fabrics with innovative features on the back while the winning outfit for women, “Illuminati,” embodies a breathable silk layer and a unique zipper. They both demonstrated high biz-green standards with creativity.
It was a valuable opportunity for HKDI students to unleash their creativity on how to integrate energy saving element into their design. Through the competition, the students helped to raise public awareness of environmental protection, and encourage public support for energy-saving initiative and dress biz-green for work.
