Hon Andrew LEUNG Kwan-yuen, GBM, GBS, JP, President of the Legislative Council and Ms Dora WAI, Secretary General of the Legislative Council Secretariat, welcomed Dr Michael WANG,  Deputy Executive Director of the VTC, and Dr Elita LAM, Principal of HKDI, along with more than 10 staff, students and graduates to the Legislative Council Complex on 17 Oct 2025. This recent visit showcased the remarkable design solutions by the talented HKDI students and alumni, bringing a fresh transformation to various spaces within this prestigious institution.

The redesigned Ante-Chamber, crafted by HKDI Higher Diploma in Interior Design students, has not only garnered praise from the Chief Executive but also hosted 20 successful exchange sessions between officials and members. Student creativity shines through the reimagined Children's Corner on the third floor, now boasting Hong Kong's most spectacular harbour views and a 50% larger space featuring whimsical tree motifs and sky-inspired elements. The newly designed education activity room demonstrates outstanding spatial innovation, cleverly mimicking the Council Chamber's layout while incorporating bright, engaging colour schemes for immersive learning experiences.

This meaningful collaboration with LegCo extends beyond aesthetic enhancement, establishing a long-term partnership focused on souvenir design, digital media integration, AI technology application, and public space revitalisation. The project exemplifies the perfect balance between creative expression and practical functionality, while providing invaluable real-world experience for emerging designers.
