Hong Kong International Visual Arts Education Symposium 2026
HKDI students excelled notably in the University Worldwide Outstanding Design Award. HKDI students won 14 awards among the 25 awards presented in the competition, and they captured all the gold prizes, including Outstanding Award for Concept Excellence, Outstanding Award Applied Excellence, and Outstanding Award for Aesthetic Mastery. The competition was part of the Hong Kong International Visual Arts Education Symposium 2026, which was organised by the Arts Education Section of the Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau. HKDI was honoured to serve as one of the supporting organisations for the symposium.
The symposium aimed to enhance the learning and teaching of visual arts and design, as well as to provide a platform for students and teachers to exchange ideas locally and internationally. It featured a variety of activities, including keynote speeches by design educators and industry professionals, interactive hands-on workshops, and an exhibition showcasing award-winning projects from the competition, etc. HKDI took the opportunity to organise a “From Design to Craftsmanship: Jewellery Design Workshop” for secondary school students, offering them hands-on experience in jewellery creation. In addition, during the VPET consultation session, HKDI teaching staff provided students with guidance on further study pathways and introduced our design programmes to them, nurturing the next generation of design talent.
