Hong Kong Denim Festival 2023
Organised by the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) and sponsored by CreateHK, the highly anticipated Hong Kong Denim Festival was held in November at Central Market, The Mills, and Sham Shui Po. The creative extravaganza has returned after two years with the theme "Design Frontiers - Fostering Global Denim Cultural Exchange and Collaboration". Featuring a versatile lineup of a denim bazaar, workshops and exhibitions, the festival demonstrated not only the fusion of denim elements with everyday life, but also the potentials of denim fabrics to support sustainable fashion. Visitors were greeted with the excellent creations of local and overseas designers, as well as distinguished projects by design students. In collaboration with world-renowned denim mills and brands, the Global Denim Talent Programme (GDTP) was also held as part of the festival to nurture creative talents for the denim industry and to foster networking and business development. |
