HKDI students Cheung Shuk Ying and Lee Wai Kwan from Higher Diploma in Exhibition Design were done an outstanding float design in International Chinese New Year Night Parade 2019 on 5 February, which was a remarkable result on the collaboration with China Construction Bank (Asia).

Inspired by the High Speed Rail which commenced operation in 2018 that have forged closer ties between Mainland China and Hong Kong, the float is designed and named as the “Pioneer Express”, which likens the bank’s long history in being the pioneer among Chinese banks to set foot in Hong Kong as well as showing its commitment to contribute to Hong Kong’s new development, joining hands with the city to strive for a better future. The “Pioneer Express” was accompanied by a group of 60 dancers in sparkly roller shoes. Along with the dazzling float, their lively dance embodied the skyrocketing development in the Mainland China and Hong Kong.
