After awarded a finalist place in the 2007 BBC Vision Design Competition for Make-up, she went on to become the 2012 World Champion at the International Body Painting Festival in Asia. With over 14 years professional experience in the TV, film, fashion, photography and theatre, Ms Hyewon Ahn is a leading figure in make-up, body painting, wig design and special effects not just in the UK and South Korea, but now also internationally. Her latest practice has been in Los Angeles, USA. Ms Ahn has worked on principal artists, choruses and actors in over 90 opera productions, carrying out their make-up, wig dressing special effect and body painting, all of which was appropriate to the character, period, culture and nationality of the production. Other work in London has included supervising a production of ‘Cabaret’ for the Savoy Theatre and ‘A Chorus Line’ for London Palladium in the West End. Employed at the Madame Tussauds in London she has worked on creating several realistic looking celebrity models, including Kate Winslet, Lady Gaga, Queen Elizabeth II, Elvis Presley and David Beckham.
Throughout Ms Ahn’s Master lecture she will demonstrate the usage of specialist materials and techniques where the audience could learn from her outstanding Body Art Skills in a complex demonstration on a live model. She will also present her visual works to inspire and to share her extensive experience in the industry.
