Opening Ceremony of the HKDI Fashion Archive and “Fashionlution” Exhibition

HKDI will organise the Grand Opening of HKDI Fashion Archive on 29 September 2017. In celebrating the Grand Opening of the HKDI Fashion Archive, an exhibition titled “Fashionlution”, organised by the Department of Fashion and Image Design, will be held to showcase the fashion apparel, accessories and print that depicts from by-gone Victoria era right up to the end of the last century. With the theme FASHIONLUTION, the exhibition will bring a fresh perspective to visitors on fashion history appreciation by means of new technologies and interactive approach. HKDI Fashion Archive houses around 1,500 historical fashion items, where Visitors can now access the iconoclastic fashion items to understand the design, culture and history behind via the interactive platform. Mr. Dai Fujiwara, a notable fashion designer and former Creative Director at Issey Miyake, will be the Guest of Honour for this Grand Opening.

After the opening ceremony, there will be a HKDI Fashion Archive Opening Forum “Fleshion • Flashion • Fashion”.
