HKDI Students Won Key Prizes at GIFT Design Ideas Competition

27 Sep 2013

A team of students from HKDI Product, Interior and Exhibition Design Programme won the 2nd Prize and the Best Youth Entry against over 100 entries from the community in the Open Group of Hong Kong Science Park GIFT Design Ideas Competition with their design “Sky Tree”. Their design concept is "vitality" showing how a “sapling” experiences all sorts of difficulties and grows into a “tree”, which is what Hong Kong people need. All winning concepts will be considered for the final design of this last building in Hong Kong Science Park, which is very encouraging for HKDI students.

The GIFT Design Ideas Competition attracted a number of creative entries and encouraged the Hong Kong community to become a part of their own green future. It also aimed to provide an opportunity for local architects as well as the general public to showcase their energy, passion and creativity.
