HKDI Fashion Design Graduate Isaac Tong Wins Second Place at the 35th Jeanswest Cup Casual Wear Design Competition
Hong Kong Design Institute is delighted to congratulate Isaac Tong, a graduate from the Higher Diploma in Fashion Design programme under the Department of Fashion and Image Design on winning Second Place at the 35th Jeanswest Cup Casual Wear Design Competition.
The 35th Jeanswest Cup Casual Wear Design Competition for 2026 is co-organized by Jeanswest, the China Garments Association, and the China Fashion Designers Association.
The final of the competition was held on 4 September 2026 in Beijing, China, as part of China International Fashion Week Autumn 2026. The student’s second-place winning entry was showcased during the final, demonstrating outstanding creativity, craftsmanship and a strong interpretation of contemporary casual wear design.
This year’s competition invited fashion designers and enthusiasts to create under the theme “I AM…”, encouraging participants to redefine self-expression through fashion. The theme called for designers to make a personal declaration through their work, exploring identity, individuality and the possibilities of becoming who they aspire to be. The competition focused on casual fashion design, with participating entries required to present a series of four outfits.
Isaac is currently studying for a BA (Hons) Fashion Design, a programme jointly offered by SHAPE and the School of Art & Design at Nottingham Trent University (NTU).
This achievement reflects the student’s creative vision and ability to translate ideas into compelling fashion collections on an international stage. HKDI is proud to see its student and graduate gaining recognition at a major fashion platform and looks forward to witnessing continued growth and success in the fashion design industry.
